About Marcell

Marcell, as the Controller at Volume Nine, helps keep the wheels turning behind the scenes. She leverages her personal experience in human resources, public relations, finance, office management, and accounting to strengthen relationships with team members, partners, clients, and vendors. Her career path has spanned a number of industries including banking, higher education, and non-profit before she joined our team in 2008. 

Marcell has a true passion for people, which inspired a movement to revitalize the Human Resources Department in our agency. Today, with Marcell’s help the newly branded People Department conveys V9’s intention of engagement and empowerment. Marcell has been instrumental in our commitment to a great workplace culture, participation in community service, and development of a core competency model that outlines success for all V9ers (and therefore clients).

Her proudest achievement, though, is helping launch our Community Service Day. One day a year, we close the office and work together to give back to the community. And throughout the year, additional opportunities are provided for smaller groups to give back in other ways. It’s all thanks to Marcell! When she’s not giving her all to our team, Marcell loves to read and listen to all genres of music, growing her own spices, gardening, and canning or freezing her own fruits and vegetables. In a previous life, she participated in sports like speed skating and roller skating. And believe it or not,  whitewater rafting (there is photo proof!).

What is an interesting fact about the town where you were born?
Flint, Michigan. The town played a central part of the Industrial Revolution of the Auto Industry.

What was your favorite band 10 years ago? 
I have to go back farther than 10 years, but I grew up on Motown.  The Supremes, Al Green, Temptations

If you could learn any skill, what would it be? 
To play the piano flawlessly and with ease.
