Title: Senior Social Media Specialist
Years at Volume Nine: 2+
Why were you chosen for our May employee spotlight?
Two equally exciting reasons: 1) This month I had the amazing opportunity to speak at the 2018 Panama City Beach Women’s Symposium, 2) May is my favorite month! Spring has arrived, summer is just around the corner, and I was born! Many moons ago…
Tell us more about your accomplishment/big news/plans:
At this year’s Panama City Beach Women’s Symposium, I was able to share social media insights and recommendations with entrepreneurs and marketers. It was an honor to pass along things I’ve learned and case studies I’ve lived, with the powerhouse females of PCB.
What is the best part of working for V9?
The freedom to work remote two days a week is the best! I also really enjoy my hilarious and talented coworkers.
What excites you about working in Digital Marketing?
Every brand or business NEEDS to focus on digital marketing. It’s not like traditional paid advertising, where you can pass on a billboard or a magazine ad. Your customers are digitally searching for businesses, products, or your brand. If you haven’t built a presence online, how can they find you?
What excites you about the future of Digital Marketing?
It’s always evolving. And it evolves so much faster than traditional mediums. If you don’t love something about the digital landscape today, don’t worry. It’ll change tomorrow!
What is your favorite quote?
“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.” – Mark Twain
This quote reminds me to complete my most daunting tasks first thing – every day!
Who is your favorite influencer to follow on social media?
Gary Vaynerchuk – I think he does a brilliant job of staying true to his personal brand, connecting with his community, and creating optimized content for each platform.
If a sitcom was made about life at V9, who would play you, and why?
I’d be Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother, because I reflect his energy (and awkwardness). I also really enjoy dropping one liners. And high fives.
What is your most embarrassing moment as a marketing professional?
The time I got caught teaching Twerking 101 during a meeting.
What is your proudest moment as a marketing professional?
Every time I’ve helped a client better understand how to use social media marketing to build brand awareness and engage their social community. It’s such a win-win! The client sees business results and social media users have a more valuable experience.
Aside from V9, what has been your favorite job and why?
My very first job at the Wakeman Community Library. It was so fun being surrounded by books, having exclusive access to new arrivals, and I feeling soooooo cool knowing the Dewey Decimal System.
Tell us about your favorite guilty pleasure (or at least one you’re willing to admit).
I watch Gilmore Girls (Seasons 1-7) on repeat. Mostly for background noise, but I also love watching Luke and Lorelai’s relationship blossom.
Here at Volume Nine, we love to share when our employees do exciting things. In this case, it was attending and speaking at an amazing Women’s Symposium. We want to thank Olivia for taking time from her extremely busy traveling and speaking schedule to answer our (sometimes silly) questions.
